Manley SS16 draws inspiration from the rich colour, bold geometric shapes and sharp lines of the De Stijl art movement. Founded in the early 20th century, it embraced an abstract, pared-down aesthetic, centered on basic visual elements such as colour and geometric shapes.
Manley‘s commitment to using the finest fabrics and combinations is seen in light and frothy matte silks, the softest woven wools and supple Italian leather. This season also sees the addition of a metallic bubble leather, beautifully embossed and looking as though a layer of morning dew has settled on the skin.
“For SS16 I’ve reduced design to its purest form and experimented with colour. The beauty is all in the detail with tantalising tonal combinations, sharp design and luxurious fabrics, made to be worn with stylish irreverence,“ says Emma Manley, Creative Director. “It’s a new confident mood, centered on simplicity.”
This season’s colour comes in an intoxicating mix of bubblegum pink and apple, juxtaposed with cornflower blue, midnight navy and daisy white.

It took 12 people to make this shoot happen.
290.5 km were travelled that morning to get the team to our location in Ranelagh, Dublin, Ireland.
A total of 76 garments were brought to the location. It took 12 hours to shoot the lookbook.
11 hours of footage were taken by our videographer Azzy.
385 shots were taken by our behind the scenes photographer Aoife Doyle.
976 shots were taken by the photographer Emily Quinn.
84 cups of tea, herbal tea and coffee were brewed.
